SNOW!!!!!!!
I have always wanted to not live in Florida. Before I moved to Central Florida, I didn’t want to live there. I love seasons. I love the crisp cool air. I love being able to dress warm enough and be comfortable in the freezing cold. I love a warm fire and fuzzy slippers. I love a down jacket and soft gloves. I love not sweating all the time. I love the mountains.
We have already been through several states, but this post is about the New Jersey SNOW!!! Yay!! We arrived in New Jersey on November 13th and got set up at Mahlon Dickerson reservation. It is gorgeous up there. Very peaceful. We traveled up to be with my sister and her family for Thanksgiving. She invited us to stay with her during our visit, so that was a delightful treat! It was almost for 2 weeks, so she may disagree! LOL The boys had the entire downstairs basement to themselves and we had a guest room upstairs. We had a great time visiting with family and just hanging out.
The Saturday after we arrived was a beautiful day at almost 65 degrees. The temperature started dropping after the sun went down and “rain” was to move in. About 11pm that night, the snow started falling. We felt certain it wouldn’t stick because it had been so warm that day. We even woke the boys so they could see the beautiful falling snow. We took some pics and some video. We went to sleep expecting a cold, wet day ahead.
This was the view we woke up to out our window at sunrise the next day. Unreal.
We were so excited that it was a Sunday and we could all go out and play. We woke the kids and headed outside to throw snowballs and make snow angels. It was so much fun! After a warm breakfast, we headed to the local park with Uncle Michael to snowboard and saucer down the hill. The boys did amazingly well considering this was their first time ever doing these things! This is the first time Brooks remembers seeing snow and the first real snow like this for Bryce. We played so hard all day and Bryce even shoveled the walkway of the house.
The next morning, Brooks and I went out and built our very first ever snowman. He had the brilliant idea of using a snow-covered basketball for the base. He turned out really cute and I was very proud of our first snowman 🙂
I hope you enjoy a little video of our snow shenanigans!
We had to drive out to check on our house on wheels in the woods. It was absolutely breathtaking. I have wanted to see our RV in snow since we started this journey. We couldn’t have ordered more perfect weather!! We are now headed back south toward warmer weather only because it’s very expensive to heat with propane and avoid frozen tanks. Oh, and most of the places we can stay are closed for the season!
Thanks for reading. Leaving me a blog comment encourages me and kept me going. It’s not easy to maintain a blog, so knowing that someones is reading and enjoying it appreciated!!
